Our team of medical professionals offers bulk billing for a range of medical services for children ten years and under. We offer childhood and travel immunisations, mole and skin checks, women’s health services, minor surgery procedures, and much more.

Dr Roshan Kulathunga
Dr Roshan obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in Sri Lanka in 2000 from the University of Peradeniya.
In 2011 he came to Australia and worked in Hervey Bay and Maryborough hospital in: Mental Health, Rehabilitation, Gynaecology, Obstetrics, Surgery, Psychiatry and Emergency Medicine.
Dr Roshan moved to Brisbane and worked there as a GP for 5 years before moving to Mackay and joining our practice in 2018. Whilst his easygoing personality and sense of humour puts his patients at ease he is very dedicated to their healthcare.
On his time off Dr Roshan enjoys spending time at the beaches and exploring the area with his family.

Dr Andre Venter
Dr. André qualified in 1980 at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, with the degrees of MB.ChB. and worked for 2 years in training hospitals before starting his own G.P. practice in 1983.
Dr. André emigrated in 1997 to Australia and obtained his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) qualifications in 2000. Dr. André has been practicing at Pioneer Medical Centre since 1997 and has a total of 33 years of general practice experience.
Dr. André’s special interests include treating skin diseases and existing skin cancers, lifestyle preventative medicine, men’s health and anxiety/depression treatment. Dr. André tries to relax his patients with humour and enjoys their jokes tremendously, whilst making their care paramount.

She has an interest in Women’s Health and being a mother of three herself, enjoys working with children.

He is interested in all aspects of General Practice.

Dr Graeme Cumming
In 1999 Dr Cumming studied and obtained his Bachelor of Medicine (B.Med) at the University of Newcastle, NSW, at which time he was also an active member of the Rural Health Club, representing the student body at conferences throughout remote areas of Australia.
Ipswich Hospital was the initial training ground for Dr Cumming up until 2002, when his training continued as a Senior House Officer at the Mater Children’s Hospital, Brisbane. He completed his final stages of training as a GP Registrar in 2005, working in Gladstone, where he successfully obtained his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and recognition as a Specialist General Practitioner, whilst also acting as a Occupational Physician for a local smelter company. He relocated to the Sunshine Coast in 2006, eventually moving to Mackay in 2007. Dr Cumming has been an integral part of Pioneer Medical Centre since joining us, notably taking on the role of lead GP Supervisor whilst maintaining extensive roles in the wider Mackay Community, both generally and in Healthcare. Dr Cumming is passionate about Chronic Disease Management and has that special touch with the elderly.
During his scarce downtime, Dr Cumming is a keen lover of spearfishing, free diving and sea kayaking. He is renowned for his indecent obsession with the Maroons and the NQ Cowboys, and his jovial yet constant torment of any Blues supporters.
